The parawing is foiling’s secret weapon for the downwind game — a soft, stowable wing designed to fly you out to the swell and glide for miles with nothing but the ocean’s energy. No boom, no battens, no rigid airframe: just a precisely shaped canopy, dyneema lines, and a bar in your hands. It’s the purest expression of what we do at Paka’a — gear that lets nature do the towing.

We only sell what we want to ride ourselves. As an independent, rider-owned foil shop, we pick our parawings based strictly on canopy design, stowing, and real saltwater durability — not marketing hype. Every parawing you see here has been stowed, deployed, crashed, and tangled in Hawaiian waters before it earns a spot on the shelf.

What we look for in a parawing:

• Upwind capability without the fight. A parawing should claw upwind with minimal input, so you can hold your line and ride the run.
• A canopy that keeps its shape. Cross-bridles and stiff, well-tensioned panels hold the profile through pumps, gusts, and hard depowers — that’s power you can trust.
• Packability that disappears. Two-handle, quick-fold designs that stuff into a pocket between waves, not a wing that needs a bag of its own.
• Materials that laugh at saltwater. Skytex and performance dyneema that stay light when wet, with strong stitching that survives real crashes.
